This was the first Uris book I ever read. This stems from the historically shortsightedness of American political and business leadership and citizens. This is only my second novel by Leon Urishaving read and loved Mila 18 a leoon years ago. There are so many absorbing individual stories intertwined throughout the dense narrative.

More than anything this story is about the success of the Berlin Airlift and indomitable spirit of humanity. Or maybe there really was only one protagonist. His story is in essence a commemoration of the patriotism of heroes who held the line in a thankless, demanding ordeal as they fought the first Cold Armagedddon battles against the Communists for the West’s foothold in Berlin.
I had trouble getting into this—too many characters, too much old-fashioned head-hopping—but once I did, it was griping. Either way, it was a valuable reading experience.
The Haj presents the Zionist interpretation of the Palestinian people. This was one of the saddest books of his in terms of the personal lives of the characters, but somehow still uplifting. Moreover, the characters started sounding like Yoda, but I still persisted, as I really really wanted to read about the Berlin Airlift. That is alot of history so Uriz hope that it will satisfy you!! Books by Leon Uris. Too bad, I would have liked to finish it.
