This was the first Uris book I ever read. This stems from the historically shortsightedness of American political and business leadership and citizens. This is only my second novel by Leon Urishaving read and loved Mila 18 a leoon years ago. There are so many absorbing individual stories intertwined throughout the dense narrative.

I had trouble getting into this—too many characters, too much old-fashioned head-hopping—but once I did, it was griping. Either way, it was a valuable reading experience.
